Summary

Jatoba, often referred to as Brazilian Cherry, is an exotic wood from South America. It is becoming much more common as a wood flooring of choice and a quality, beautiful wood for furniture. The colours range from medium brown to an amazing rich orange and red colour, sometimes with fine black lines running through the wood.

Details

Machining - It is harder then Maple, and thus hard on your tools, making sharp edges and quality abrasives essential... but well worth the work to bring out its incredible colour. Some boards look very much like teak, and in fact have used it as a much cheaper substitite for non-exterior applications.

Uses - Hardwood flooring, fancy turnery, small trinkits.

Jank Hardness Rating - 2350 (Whats This?)
