cocobollo

Summary

This rosewood is a deep rich, orange red with black striping, dramatic grain pattern. Grain is straight to interlocked, often with many swirls. In my books, it is one of the most beautiful rosewoods in the world.

Details

Machining - Cocobolo's fine dust and oily texture may cause a skin rash, so wear gloves if you show some sensitivity.... this oil can also cause some glue up difficulties, so be sure to experiment a little.

Uses - Turnery, brushbacks, cutlery handles, small tool handles, truncheons, small trinkits and fancy goods, wooden jewellery and similar small decorative items.

Janka Hardness Rating - 1136 (Whats This?)
